The Goyal Lab, a molecular medicine laboratory, is a part of the Department of Biotechnology, School of Life Sciences, Central University of Rajasthan. This laboratory mainly focuses on understanding the molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying various diseases and using this knowledge to develop new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies.

Several projects aiming at understanding diseases and their treatments by delving into the molecular intricacies of cellular processes are currently available in the laboratory. Postdoctoral researchers, Ph.D., Masters, MD, and undergraduate students are welcome to join our group.

 

Masters and MD Students

The Master’s student must have a good understanding of cell biology, bioinformatics, and molecular biology. He/She will need to demonstrate adaptability to the multidisciplinary nature of the projects and the ability to work in a team. Masters and MD students are encouraged to contact us to express their interest. Please send your brief updated CV to us.

MD Students interested in multidisciplinary research with their clinical work are welcome to join the group.  You will offer to work under an interdisciplinary team to address clinical problems.  

Ph.D., Project staff and Post Doctoral Fellow

Ph.D. opportunities with government and university-funded scholarships are available each year to national and international students.

Key criteria

National Students

Ph.D.  Admission: Admission to the Ph.D. program in Biotechnology requires the Common University Entrance Test (CUET) score followed by an interview. The Prospective Students should visit the Central University of Rajasthan website for the details necessary for admission, including essential qualifications, etc. The CUET is usually held once a year.  Students who have qualified for national exams with JRF (CSIR, DBT, ICMR, etc.) are exempted from CUET scores and may call for an interview directly. These students can also apply for Ph.D. admission in the winter semester, subject to the availability of seats. 

Project Staff (JRF, Project Assistant, etc.):  Various funded projects are running in the lab with several project positions. Various grant applications are under consideration with several government funding agencies. You may check the current openings and their requirements for the interested position and apply accordingly.

Post Doctoral Fellow: Government funding agencies have several schemes for post-Ph.D. candidates to promote early careers in research—for example, DST Women Scientist, DST National PostDoc Scheme, and DBT BioCare. Please visit the respective funding agency website for more detail. We will help you with the application process and writing of the project proposal.  Please send your latest CV and SOP to us before the application process.
